70% off Ann Taylor Pebbled Tote in Mini and Classic + Review

I love my Ann Taylor pebbled tote in taupe latte that I got about a year ago, pictured below. It’s the perfect work bag (fits laptop), travel bag (fits a cardigan when it gets chilly on the plane), everything bag. I’ve been debating for a long time whether or not to get the same bag in multiple colors but today Ann Taylor made it an insanely easy decision. The large classic tote is reduced from $118 to $32 and the mini tote from $98 to $28 in stores! The online price is still $40 for the signature tote and $36 for the mini, a small difference but slightly noticeable when you add on the $8.95 flat rate shipping costs.

I think something must have changed between the seasons because though the fabric is still pebble pu “leather,” this season’s bags seem to be made of thinner lighter leather. A small detail of the gold logo on the front pocket is also absent this time around. I still love the gold hardware detail and the size of the mini and length of the shoulder strap (42″, removable). The side zips also open up so you get a more winged look on the purse, and you can fit more things inside it too. I got two of the minis in navy blue and black, both very versatile colors that can complement a variety of outfits for work or play. I also picked up a black classic tote for my mother, as this bag is classic enough for all ages.

The few gripes I have about the taupe classic tote I already have is that for one, bottom is not lined, meaning when I put heavy things in the bag, the bottom panel bulges out. You can fix this with a purse organizer or liner. Also, the carry handles are sewn on, not riveted, so they can break if you stuff the bag with too many heavy things and accidentally carry it by one handle from time to time.

All in all though this is an amazing and fantastic deal and I’m so excited to wear these new bags to work! What color(s) do you want?
